Overview

The Experience

Observe a leopard’s grace as it grooms itself in the boughs of a marula tree. Watch wild dogs hunt, and contribute your sightings and photographs to the study of their behaviour and dispersal. Brace yourself for considerable predator-prey interaction, as lion and speciality antelope such as roan and sable take to the chase. Don’t bother counting the vast numbers of buffalo leaving dust in their wake, or the sheer number of elephants, comprising one of the world’s greatest meta-herds…

The Place

Like its nearby larger sister camp DumaTau, Little Duma Tau lies between two elephant corridors in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve in Botswana’s far north, with unique access to both the Linyanti River floodplain and the Savuti Channel. On ancient pathways at the end of the Great Rift Valley, along and through the waterways, elephant and other game traverse these corridors – essential to supporting viable, self-sustaining wildlife populations. Sharing DumaTau’s lagoon and river frontage and access to diverse habitats, Little DumaTau promises prolific game viewing on both land and water – by game vehicle, by boat or barge, on foot. Or from the air, helicoptering over the Linyanti.

The Camp

Similar in style to DumaTau, Little DumaTau is an intimate haven of sophisticated elegance. With just four supremely spacious guest suites, each with its own lounge, private plunge pool, bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, and uninterrupted views over Osprey Lagoon, Little DumaTau is sublime. It shares DumaTau’s new wellness centre and gym, and of course the same glorious wildlife traffic moving calmly through camp.
